True Anthem Web Page Fetcher – How It Works

What is the Web Page Fetcher?

True Anthem uses a web page fetcher to automatically collect and ingest your website’s metadata. This ensures that when we post your content to social media, we have the most up-to-date information available.

How the Fetcher works.

  • The fetcher requests your web page’s pre-rendered version.
  • It reads the HTML content to extract metadata like titles, descriptions, and images.
  • This metadata is then used within the True Anthem platform to recommend and automate social media posts.

How to Identify the Fetcher.

The fetcher (sometimes called a "robot") identifies itself using a user-agent string, which is a small piece of text included in web requests.

True Anthem’s user-agent string is:

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; trueAnthem/1.0; +http://www.trueanthem.com)

If you need to verify whether a request is coming from True Anthem, you can check your web server logs for this user-agent string.

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

Why isn’t True Anthem fetching the correct metadata?

  • Ensure your webpage has Open Graph (OG) and Twitter meta tags properly set.
  • Verify that your page is publicly accessible and not blocked by robots.txt or firewalls.

Can I block the fetcher?

  • Yes, but blocking it may prevent automated posting and recommendations from working properly.
