Content Types in Post Jobs: How They Work and How to Use Them

What Are Content Types?

Content Types are essential rules within Post Jobs that determine how content is selected and distributed across social media. They use your website's metadata to categorize content based on age, topic, and predicted social performance, ensuring the right content is shared at the right time to maximize engagement.

By leveraging Content Types, you can apply specific rules to target and distribute the most relevant and engaging content that aligns with your social media strategy.

Types of Content Types

Post Jobs use various Content Types, each designed for a specific distribution strategy:

AI-Driven Content Types

Automatically selects new or historically top-performing content using AI algorithms within AI-Driven Post Jobs.

RSS-Driven Content Types

Visual Asset Content Types

How Content Types Work

Content Types function through:

  • Selection Criteria: Time-based rules such as content age and recirculation settings.
  • Content Rules: Metadata filters that determine which content qualifies for distribution.

These components automate content selection while ensuring alignment with your editorial standards.

Content Type Strategy

A strong content strategy uses Content Type priorities to balance new content, recirculation content, and evergreen content in Post Jobs. This allows AI to optimize content selection for your social channels.

Content Type Priorities

Prioritization helps dictate how content is queued and selected:

  • Competing Content Type Priorities: Content Types at the same priority level compete based on AI-predicted performance.

Example: New Content @ Priority 1, 24 Hour Recirculation @ Priority 1, Evergreen @ Priority 1, 1 Month Recirculation @ Priority 1.

Note: This is the recommended priorization to best leverage True Anthem's algorithm.

  • Content Type Soft-prioritization: Gives certain Content Types a competitive edge.

    Example: New Content @ Priority 1, 24 Hour Recirculation @ Priority 2, Evergreen @ Priority 2, 1 Month Recirculation @ Priority 2.

  • Content Type Hard-prioritization: Establishes a strict order for content selection.

Example: New Content @ Priority 1, 24 Hour Recirculation @ Priority 2, Evergreen @ Priority 3, 1 Month Recirculation @ Priority 5.
