Keeping Your Content Fresh: A Guide to Content Expiration in True Anthem

In today's fast-paced digital world, keeping your social media content fresh and relevant is crucial. True Anthem empowers you with an arsenal of features to curate your content and ensure your audience receives the latest and greatest. Our newest addition, Content Expiration, takes this control a step further, allowing you to set expiration dates and times for web pages.

This article will guide you through everything you need to know about Content Expiration and how to leverage it to optimize your social media content strategy.

What is Content Expiration?

Content Expiration allows you to define a specific date and time when a web page should no longer be considered for distribution by True Anthem's AI-powered Post Jobs. This is particularly useful for content with a limited shelf life, such as:

  • Promotional offers: Set an expiration date for social media posts promoting limited-time deals or discounts.
  • Time-sensitive news articles: Ensure your audience receives the latest updates by automatically blocking outdated news pieces.
  • Seasonal content: Schedule the automatic removal of social media posts promoting seasonal products or events.

By utilizing Content Expiration, you can achieve several benefits:

  • Enhanced Relevancy: Guarantee your social media channels showcase the most up-to-date and pertinent content.
  • Streamlined Content Management: Schedule the removal of temporary content automatically, saving you time and effort.
  • Content Variety: Prevent repetitive content from saturating your social media feeds, keeping your audience engaged.

Setting a Page Expiration Date and Time

Ready to put Content Expiration into action? Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Locate the Content: Navigate to your Queue or Content Discovery search results and find the web page you want to set an expiration for. Ensure your website is selected in the Content menu options.
  2. Access Enhanced Page Blocking: Hover over the familiar prohibited icon (🚫) used for both Blocking and Snoozing functionalities. Click the wrench icon (🔧) that appears to open the Enhanced Page Blocking options within the Post Editor.
  3. Choose Your Expiration Scope: Decide if you want the expiration to apply to the current campaign you have selected or all campaigns accessible within your True Anthem Dashboard.
  4. Set Expiration by Network: True Anthem offers the flexibility to set a universal expiration time for all connected social media accounts or customize the expiration date and time for each social network individually. Click the down caret (⌄) at the top for universal expiration, or next to each social network row for individual settings.
  5. Select Expiration Duration: Choose a preset expiration duration (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.) or set a custom date and time using the built-in picker.
  6. Expiration Timer: Once you've chosen an expiration duration, an orange stopwatch icon (⏱️) will appear for the corresponding social networks. Hovering over this icon reveals a tooltip displaying the remaining time (in seconds) before the content expires.
  7. Save It Up: Click the green Save Button.

What Happens Next?

After saving the expiration settings, the web page will display the orange stopwatch icon where the standard block icon typically resides within your Queue or Content Discovery search results. The page will still be eligible for distribution until the designated expiration date and time arrives.

Need to quickly identify content that's set to expire? True Anthem has you covered! Within the Content Discovery panel, hover over the More icon (•••) and select the Status module. Here, you'll find a handy filter option labeled Show Expiring Content. Enabling this filter refines your search results to display web pages with expiration dates, alongside all your other unblocked content. This makes it a breeze to identify content that needs to be reviewed, refreshed, or potentially prioritized for posting before it expires. Utilize this filter in conjunction with Smart Searches or to pinpoint expiring content published within a specific timeframe for maximum efficiency!

Content Expiration in Action

Once the expiration date and time pass, the orange stopwatch icon will be replaced with a red prohibited icon (🚫). This indicates that the page is now permanently blocked from being chosen by True Anthem's AI-Driven Post Jobs for future automated social media distribution.

Remember: Content Expiration is a powerful tool to ensure your social media strategy prioritizes fresh and relevant content. Don't hesitate to leverage this feature to schedule the removal of temporary content, promotional offers, or news articles with time-sensitive information.

By mastering Content Expiration alongside True Anthem's Blocking and Snoozing functionalities, you can curate a dynamic and ever-evolving social media content calendar that keeps your audience engaged and informed.
