Managing Content Types in True Anthem: Creating, Editing, and Deleting

What Are Content Types?

Content Types in True Anthem help you segment different types of content for distribution using a combination of standard quantitative and qualitative attributes. These settings allow for greater control over how content is categorized and shared, optimizing performance across your social media channels.

Each Post Job in True Anthem contains Content Types, which define how and when specific content is posted. Users can create, edit, and delete Content Types using intuitive self-service tools within the True Anthem platform.

Note: Only Self-Service users can edit these features.

Creating a New Content Type

To create a new Content Type within a Post Job, follow these steps:

When adding a new Post Job:

When adding to an existing Post Job:

  1. Add a New Post Job or navigate to the existing Post Job where you want to add a Content Type.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of your Content Types and click Add New Content Type.
  3. The newly created Content Type will automatically include the following default Content Type Settings and Selection Parameters:
    • Post Type: Link
    • Post Message: @description (utilizes the og:description meta tag value for each page)
    • Maximum age of content: 24 hours
    • Maximum number of times content can be posted: 1
  4. Adjust any additional settings as needed (see "Editing Content Types" below), and then click Save.

Editing Content Types

You can edit an existing Content Type within a Post Job by modifying the following settings:

  • Content Type Priority: Adjust Content Type Priorities by hovering over a Content Type’s “Priority” field (in parenthesis next to the Content Type Name) and selecting the desired priority level.
  • Editorial Multiplier: Modify the Editorial Multiplier by hovering over the corresponding setting and entering a new value.
  • Content Type Settings: Edit the key attributes of the Content Type, including:
    • Post Type Selection: Choose the type of content this Content Type should apply to.
    • Post Message Template: Customize the default message that appears with posts.
    • First Comment Template (Optional): Set the first comment to be included with posts.
  • Selection Criteria: Quantitative guidelines regarding age of content, minimum and maximum times posted, and time between recirculation of the same content.
  • Content Rules: Metadata-based rules used to segment content by qualitative attributes like category, keywords, page URL, and specific terms in the content’s title or description.

Be sure to save your Content Type configuration edits to ensure real-time updates are made to your Post Job's content recommendations.


Deleting a Content Type

To remove a Content Type from a Post Job, follow these steps:

        

  1. Navigate to the Post Job containing the Content Type you wish to delete.
  2. Click on Manage Content Types to access the Content Type settings.
  3. Locate the Content Type you want to remove, hover over the ellipses and select Delete Content Type.
  4. Confirm your deletion. Once deleted, the Content Type will no longer be available for that Post Job.

Best Practices for Managing Content Types

  • Preview Content Selection: Use the Post Job’s Preview Content button and the Content Type filters to ensure content recommendations align with the Content Types' configuration settings.
  • Organize for Efficiency: Use Content Types to strategically segment content and optimize performance.
  • Fine-Tune Multipliers: Adjust the Editorial Multiplier to control how much emphasis is placed on certain types of content.
  • Regularly Review Settings: Ensure Content Type settings align with your current social media strategy.
  • Use Clear Naming Conventions: Label Content Types meaningfully to avoid confusion within your team.
