Fine-tune how your posts appear across social media platforms by taking full advantage of the Content Type Settings available in the new Content Type management features within True Anthem’s self-service tools. These powerful settings allow you to customize how your AI and RSS-driven posts to social media are formatted and how the text appears in your accompanying post messages—and even in comments as well.
Note: Only Self-Service users can edit these features.

What are Content Type Settings?
Each Content Type within Post Jobs comes with three customizable settings (Post Type, Post Message, and First Comment) that live in the Content Rules tab of the Schedule section. These options give you more control over how your content looks and reads across channels like Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky (currently in beta), and more.
Here’s a breakdown of each setting:
🔗 1. Post Type
Choose how your post will appear visually on social media:
- Link (default): Uses your content’s link preview.
-
Photo: Posts an image with a customizable layout.
- Once “Photo” is selected, a new field called Photo Layout appears. Choose from:
- Original (default): Displays the original image as-is.
- Landscape, Square, or Portrait: Tailor the orientation to best suit the platform and content.
- Once “Photo” is selected, a new field called Photo Layout appears. Choose from:
✍️ 2. Post Message
This is the text that appears with your post. You can use a blend of dynamic metadata and hardcoded messaging:
- By default, it pulls from your page’s
og:description
. - Add hard-coded prefixes or suffixes to customize the tone (e.g.,
BREAKING:
,ICYMI:
, orClick the link in our bio to read more!
). - Use @ to insert dynamic fields like title, description, or Bitly-shortened URLs.
- Need to make a custom metadata field available for your Post Message? Just reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or our Support Team.
- Character Limit Fallbacks: Essential for platforms like X, Threads, or Bluesky. If your main message is too long, set a fallback like the page title.
💬 3. First Comment (Optional)
You can pre-set a comment that will be published along with your post on select platforms:
- Available for Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Bluesky.
- Ideal for driving engagement or including a link to the accompanying Photo Post Message's call-to-action like “Read more at the link in the comments below ⬇”.
- Use the same hard-coded and dynamic text template system described in Post Message section above.
🔧 Example in Action:
Let’s say you want to create a visual-first Photo post that redirects readers to a link in the comments. Here’s how you’d set it up:
-
Post Type: Photo
- Photo Layout: Original
-
Post Message:
New: @title Read more at the link below ⬇
-
First Comment:
Read more: @Bitly URL
