Pausing & Unpausing Your Queue

In the dynamic and unpredictable world of social media management, the timing of your posts is crucial. Understanding the "Pause" and "Unpause" features within the True Anthem Dashboard allows for greater control over your social media presence, especially during breaking news and key moments in your editorial calendar.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Once paused, your True Anthem queue will remain paused until you manually resume it. We will never automatically un-pause your queue, regardless of the reason it was stopped.

How Pausing and Unpausing Affect Post Queues

Pausing Post Queues in True Anthem immediately halts automated and manually scheduled posting. 
During the onboarding process, your Queues are initially set in a paused state, and you determine when to unpause, which enables the start of automated posting.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Even when a Queue is paused, Dashboard users can still utilize the "Post Now" button within the Post Editor to continue posting in real-time.

Strategic Reasons for Pausing Post Queues

While, ideally, the majority of our publishing partners will rarely need to use this feature, pausing Queues is a strategic decision often used during intensive editorial initiatives requiring in-the-moment coverage like awards shows or live events. 

This feature is also valuable for news publishers during major breaking news or catastrophic weather events, allowing for manual control over content dissemination of only the most relevant information to your audience on social media.

💡 TIP: If you find yourself frequently pausing Queues simply due to questionable content recommendations, please contact your Customer Success Manager to explore alternative solutions.

How to Pause Post Queues

1. Navigate to the Social Networks Page in the Dashboard's Settings section. 

2. Click the Pause button and select from various durations like 1 hour, 24 hours, 1 week, a custom period, or pausing a Queue indefinitely. This flexibility caters to your specific needs.

Unpausing Your Queues

Option 1

1. Navigate to the Social Networks Page in the Dashboard's Settings section
2. Click "Unpause" on the Social Network you want to resume posting.

Option 2

1. Click the “Unpause” link on the banner at the top of the Queue, which takes you back to the Social Networks Settings page, where you can then select the Unpause button.

2. Click "Unpause" on the Social Network you want to resume posting.

Best Practices and Tips

• Practice proactive management and utilization of pausing and unpausing strategically around significant events or when refining your content strategy.
• Remember, pausing and unpausing your Queues can be done independently for each different social media platform, offering greater control over your content distribution.
