True Anthem Intelligence is a near real-time competitive analytics platform built as the successor to the functionality of other competitor tracking tools, such as CrowdTangle or Newswhip. This tool allows you to track, analyze, and benchmark both your owned content and your competitors' Facebook pages in one unified dashboard.
In the Private Beta, you can:
- Create and manage feeds (groups of Pages) to track
- View over-performing posts based on benchmarks
- Provide impactful feedback to strengthen True Anthem Intelligence as a whole
The following overview breaks down how to get started and answer common questions around Intelligence after you've been admitted to the private beta.
Get Started by Authorizing Your Facebook Pages
In order to track any Facebook pages in Intelligence, you'll first need to authorize your own campaign's Facebook page in the Intelligence section of the True Anthem dashboard.
Why? This step is required because Intelligence uses a different Facebook API than the one True Anthem uses for automated posting.
Please follow the steps here: How to Authorize Your Facebook Page for Intelligence
How to Create and Configure Feeds
Feeds are collections of Facebook pages you want to monitor. You can create up to five feeds per campaign, with a maximum of 15 Facebook pages in total.
To create a Feed:
-
Open Intelligence
In the Dashboard, navigate to the Intelligence section in the left rail. -
Click the Green “+” Button
You’ll find it in the lower right corner of the screen. -
Name Your Feed
Click the ellipses in the heading of the feed, and select Edit Feed Name. Choose a clear, descriptive name (e.g., “Local Competitors” or “Top Influencers”). -
Add Pages
- Search by Page URL or @Username
- Select Pages and assign them to your Feed by clicking the + or matching on the @username
- Click Save
- True Anthem will then begin capturing data for new posts from these Pages -
Set Filters
Narrow your view by:
- Post Type (Link, Photo, Reel, Video, All Posts)
- Post Age range (Select from presets or set a custom range) -
Select Metrics
Choose which metric you want to use for ranking:
- Reactions
- Comments
- Shares
- Total Interactions
- Interaction Rate
- Posted Time -
Keyword Search (Optional)
See below section on Keyword Search for more details -
Sort Posts
Sort your feed by the selected metric to see Overperforming (by benchmarks - see below for more details), Highest Performing, Lowest Performing, or Newest/Oldest Posts (when Posted Time is selected) -
Shared Feeds vs. Personal Feeds
All users can create up to five feeds. However, campaign admins can create Shared Feeds that are visible to all Admins and Standard Users within a campaign, which is counted within the five feeds allotted. Shared Feeds can only be edited by its creator. To share a feed with your team, click the gear icon in the top right corner of the feed, and enable "Share Feed with Team" toggle switch.
How to Use Keyword Search
The Keyword search lets you layer additional criteria into your feed to only surface posts with specific words in the post caption.
-
Open a Feed
Navigate to any Feed you’ve created in the Intelligence section. -
Click the Filter Icon
At the top of the feed, click the search icon to open the keyword search panel. -
Enter Your Search Terms
- Any of these words → Enter comma-separated terms (e.g., election, mayor, debate). Results will include posts containing any of these words.
- All of these words → Enter terms that must all be included in a post for it to appear in results.
- None of these words → Enter terms you want to exclude (e.g., sports, weather). - Apply the Filter
Click Apply to filter posts in your Feed based on the criteria you’ve entered.
Note: Depending on the specific criteria in your search, the resulting feed could become sparse or empty.
How We Calculate Benchmarks
Intelligence helps you spot a winner by comparing a post against its own page's history. We call this a Benchmark.
A benchmark is essentially an average performance score for a post of the same media type (link, photo, video, etc.) and age.
Example: If you look at a photo post that is 45 minutes old, we compare its performance to the average performance of that page’s last 100 photo posts when they were 45 minutes old.
This comparison gives you the crucial context: Is the post performing better or worse than normal for that page?
Benchmarks are calculated once there are at least three posts of the same media type. After that threshold, we use the recent 100 posts of the same media type when refreshing the benchmarks.
How Often Data Is Updated
True Anthem Intelligence provides continuous, near real-time insights into high-performing Facebook posts across pages you select to monitor. We keep these feeds fresh and actionable by updating post data and performance metrics every five minutes.

🚫 What We Don't Include (Yet!)
To keep the beta fast and focused, a few features are not included in Intelligence for now:
- No historical post backfill. We only track new posts from the moment you add a page.
- No real-time alerts (ex. Slack or Teams) or summary emails (Don’t worry - these are coming soon!)
- No sorting by underperformance
-
Tracking of other social platforms (coming later)
Next Steps
Once your preferred Facebook pages are connected and feeds are configured, Intelligence will begin displaying top-performing posts based on your settings. You can refine filters, adjust metrics, and sort to focus on what matters most to you.
The #1 goal of a private beta is to collect feedback to further strengthen Intelligence.
Please send us your questions, comments and feedback early and often by emailing support@trueanthem.com.
