Have you ever seen an article in your Queue that you’d prefer to promote during another time of year, or maybe it’s a tad too similar to something else that was just posted? You can adjust that! That's why we've got you covered with advanced features like Blocking and Enhanced Page Blocking (affectionately known as "Snoozing"), giving you full editorial control over your content's visibility and timing.
What's the Difference Between Blocking and Snoozing?
Think of them as two sides of the content coin:
- Blocking: This is for an article/web page URL you never want True Anthem's AI to distribute again. Maybe it's outdated information or something that no longer aligns with your brand. Blocking ensures it stays out of your queue permanently.
- Enhanced Page Blocking (Snoozing): This is for articles you want to hold off on for the duration of your choosing. Think of it like hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock. For instance, snoozing a seasonal or holiday-specific article right after the season ends allows you to reintroduce it into your queue when the time is right, ensuring your content remains relevant and timely.
How to Block or Snooze Content
The good news is that blocking and snoozing are both quick and easy to do within the True Anthem Dashboard. Here's how:
- Find the content you want to block or snooze in your Queue or Content Discovery search results by searching for the web page URL.
- Look for the "prohibited" icon 🚫 within the image preview.
- Permanently Block: Click the 🚫 icon to block the content across all your connected social media accounts for the selected Campaign in the True Anthem Dashboard. Alternatively, hover over the icon and select specific social platforms to exclude within that campaign.
- Enhanced Page Blocking (Snoozing): Hover over the 🚫 icon and click the “wrench” icon 🔧. Choose a preset temporary snooze/block duration (1 hour, 24 hours, etc.) or set a custom date and time for each social media account you want to snooze the content for.
- Enhanced Page Blocking/Snoozing (All Campaigns): Hover over the 🚫 icon and click the “wrench” icon 🔧. Then select the radio button next to "All Campaigns" (which will deselect "This Campaign") within the Post Editor. From there, select a preset or custom temporary Block Duration to snooze or select "Indefinitely" to block a web page URL from being selected for distribution permanently across any or all of your social network accounts across all campaigns that you have access to within the True Anthem Dashboard.
Bringing Content Back from the Shadows (Unblocking & Unsnoozing)
Changed your mind? No problem! You can easily unblock or unsnooze content at any time. Just use Content Discovery to quickly search and locate the content you’d like to unblock, then click the enabled "prohibited" icon 🚫 to unblock or the enabled "stopwatch" icon ⏱️ to unsnooze content across all networks. Alternatively, hover over the icons and select specific social media accounts where you want the content to be considered for distribution again.
A Note on Excessive Blocking
If you find yourself constantly blocking articles related to topics that you prefer to never promote on your social media channels, it is much more effective to apply a Content Rule to your Content Types in order to exclude that content from being selected in your Queue en masse.
