Using Smart Tagging in True Anthem

True Anthem's Dashboard simplifies content categorization with Smart Tags. Smart Tags are pivotal in automating content selection in Post Job and Content Type rules. They are applied to web pages or social posts in the Content Discovery panel, either individually or in bulk, to help organize and streamline your social strategy.

What Are Smart Tags?

Smart Tags are internal labels used to group similar content together. Unlike public hashtags, Smart Tags are only visible within your True Anthem dashboard. They allow our automation engine to identify specific categories of content—such as "Evergreen," "Sports," or "Breaking News"—and publish them according to the rules you’ve established.

How to Apply Smart Tags

You can manually apply existing tags to any piece of content found in the Content Discovery tab:

  • Hover over an individual search result (content tile) in the Content Discovery panel.
  • Click the Add Tags button that appears on the tile.
  • Click Go to All Tags if your ideal Smart Tag is not present in the recently used menu.
  • Select the relevant tags from your library and click Done.

How to Create a New Smart Tag

If you need to categorize content with a label that does not yet exist in your dashboard, you can create a new Smart Tag on the fly. Follow these steps to create and apply a new tag:

  1. Locate your Content: Hover over any content tile within the Content Discovery section.
  2. Open Tagging Options: Click the Add Tags button on the tile.
  3. Manage All Tags: In the pop-up window, click the Go to All Tags button.
  4. Define the New Tag: In the input box, type the Name of the new tag you want and click the plus (+) button or press Enter.
  5. Apply and Finalize: Click the new tag you just created (ensure it is highlighted), then select Done.

You have now successfully created a new Smart Tag and applied it to your selected piece of content.

💡 TIP: Tag Consistency

Before creating a new tag, use the search bar in the "Go to All Tags" menu to see if a similar tag already exists. Keeping your tag list concise helps maintain clean reporting and more accurate automation rules.

Smart Tags in Content Rules (Admins Only)

Once your content is tagged, Administrators can leverage these labels to power automation. By creating Automation Content Selection Rules that filter for specific Smart Tags, you can ensure that the right content is always scheduled to the right social network at the right time.

Bulk Application

For high-volume updates, tags can be applied to multiple pages or posts simultaneously using the multi-select functionality or via CSV upload. To learn more about managing tags at scale, please refer to our guide on Applying Smart Tags to Content using Bulk Application.
