Designing a photo template creates the visual layout, but connecting them to content types is what activates automation. By assigning templates to one or more content types, you are instructing the AI on which visual style to use when automatically generating headline graphics for new articles in that bucket. Once saved, True Anthem handles graphic creation for your queue.
You can only connect photo templates to photo post content types. This means that if you have any link post content types that you want to have headline graphics, you would need to swap them out to photo posts first in order to activate Photo Template Automation.
How to Connect Your Templates
To connect your templates and activate Photo Template Automation, you need to do the following steps:
-
Click on Schedule, select the social network you want to edit from the dropdown, then click on Content Rules.
-
From there, expand the photo post content type you’d like to edit by clicking on the down arrow on the right side.
-
Under the Photo Post Template header, click Select Template. You can select one or more templates per content type. If you select multiple templates, the system will randomize which template is used.
IMPORTANT: You are not obligated to add Photo Template Automation to every automated photo content type; however, you’ll see more benefit the more content types that you do! -
(Optional) If you are activating Photo Template Automation on multiple content types, you have the option to copy it to some or all of your remaining photo content types by clicking on the Copy Photo Post Template to button.
-
Once you have applied the template to all of the photo content types where you wish to leverage Photo Template Automation, click Save in the lower right corner of the screen.
-
Once you are done, we recommend reviewing your queue and inspect the changes live, since they will be applied to all of the selected content types immediately. If you need to edit your templates, open the Photo Editor to make changes. If you want to change the templates connected to your content types, repeat these steps!

| Template Management | You can edit or completely remove template automation from content types at any time. |
| Manual Overrides | Posts in the queue that have been previously manually edited will not have photo templates auto-applied unless you apply the Website Version via the Version History option. |
